About the cycling guided day trip in the Luberon

On this Provence day trip, the bike ride starts in the charming town of Isle sur la Sorgue, the antiques capital of Provence and a tiny island surrounded by the emerald waters of the Sorgue river. This scenic bike ride heads into a countryside dotted with farmhouses, orchards and vineyards, on small country roads with very little traffic, far from the tourist crowds. 
Your guide will lead you to the perched hamlet of Saumane and the charming village of Fontaine de Vaucluse and its mysterious spring : no one or machine has been able to gauge its depths. You continue towards Cabrieres d'Avignon and Lagnes pass with beautiful views of the Luberon ! On the way, you enjoy a nice lunch in a local restaurant. For those wanting to cover more milage, you can continue towards the spectacular perched village of Gordes and enjoy an olive oil tasting on the way before heading back to Isle.

  • You meet your guide in Isle sur la Sorgue bike shop and start your cycling in Provence  
  • Depending on your pace, you will be back in Isle and finished by 5 to 6 pm

  • This is a FIXED rate, from 1 to 4 participants maximum with 1 private guide
  • We confirm the private tour within 7 working days (subject to availability)
  • From Monday to Saturday 

The ride

  • The ride is 35km long in total, almost exclusively on small country roads with no traffic.  
    The longer option to Gordes is 43km

The program of the day 

  • Start of the day: 9AM in Isle sur la Sorgue
  • Loop Ride - Isle > Saumane > Fontaine > Cabrieres d'Avignon > Isle

DO NOT FORGET TO BRING -  You will need:

  • Comfortable gym clothes are sufficient or you can choose to wear bicycle-specific clothing (bib-shorts and a cycling jersey) 
  • Rain/wind jacket in case of bad weather or Mistral wind, that can be stored in your saddle bag (recommended)
  • Running shoes for flat pedals
  • A small comfortable-collapsable backpack
  • Sun hat, sun protection (hat, sun cream)
  • Bottle of water
