How fit do I need to be?
If you are new to the walking holiday scene or are just a casual Sunday stroller and worried that a walking holiday may be a little too much for you, then think again! We have plenty of easy level walking holidays in a choice of destinations, to help you choose the best walking tour, at your own pace!
Easy level walking holidays:
Our easy walking level requires no athletic ability on your part. It’s all about getting some fresh air, taking your time, completing a walk in the morning and having an afternoon of leisure. Walks tend to be between 2h to 4h (5.6 to 9 miles at a time) and on relatively flat ground.
A walking holiday in Italy
Enjoy an Italy lake region walking stay around Lake Como on panoramic hiking paths above the lake, visiting the famous villas and botanical gardens and a flexible boat pass for you to choose where you want to go and on what day. No difficulties along the way, just stunning landscapes, swimming in the lake, and plenty of charming cafés and restaurants!
A walking holiday in Madeira
Or perhaps we can tempt you with a gourmet walking tour in Madeira? Ideal for foodies with just enough exercise to justify the quantity of food along the way! We’ve nicknamed this itinerary “easy hikes and epicurean delights’ and whilst we’re quite chuffed with the poetic nature of this title, it does sum up the trip rather well. We lead you on easy walking trails through the laurisilva forest, vineyards and charming villages, we book you into some of our favourite restaurants, ensure that you have an opportunity or two to sample the famous ‘poncha’ and offer a guided culinary tour of the capital city of Funchal with no less than 15 sweet and savoury tastings!
A walking holiday in the Azores
And what about the volcanic archipelago of the Azores for your next self-guided walking trip? We offer a 5-day easy walking holiday on the Islands of Terceira, home to the beautiful UNESCO city of Angra do Heroismo, where we suggest a choice of hikes for you to choose depending on what you fancy and your mood of the day. We then fly you to the neighbouring island of Graciosa, the flattest island of the archipelago with gentle rolling hills and windmills.
A walking holiday in Provence
An easy self-guided walking tour of Provence may be just what you are looking for. Enjoy hiking through Van Gogh’s landscapes of sunflower fields, vineyards and olive groves, taking in some perched medieval villages along the way (requiring a little climbing but nothing too strenuous and always a place for a rewarding drink at the end!), admiring roman ruins and sitting comfortably in quaint cafés and restaurants in shaded village squares.
