Day 3 - Hiking and kayaking along the Dordogne River

After breakfast, if its a Wednesday or a Staurday : we take time to mingle with the locals and to experience the town’s open-air market, the largest and liveliest in all of the Dordogne, offering a mind-boggling array of fruits, vegetables, truffles, meats, cheeses, crafts and trinkets, we’ll have many tasting opportunities!
Then a short transfer (15 min) to the enchanting cliffside village of La Roque Gageac, listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. We'll explore its narrow streets, stone houses, and lush gardens, admire the historic mansions, troglodyte dwellings and ochre colored stone houses with lauze roofs. We follow the winding trails, take in the breathtaking views of the Dordogne River and the historic châteaux that adorn the landscape until we reach Vitrac, where a delightful picnic awaits by the riverside.
Afterward, embark on a thrilling kayak trip, paddling along a picturesque 12-kilometre stretch of the Dordogne River. As you glide downstream, marvel at the towering cliffs, verdant forests, and the majestic castles perched high above the riverbanks. Enjoy the stunning scenery of this region and the tranquil undulating green landscape. This day is a perfect blend of hiking, relaxation and river adventure! Transfer back to Sarlat.
