Cycling from Chateauneuf du Pape to the Pont du Gard aqueduct - guest reviews

" Not enough to do in Chateauneuf for 2 nights. Ride was beautiful, but dinning choices were very limited. Routes were very beautiful and generally very low traffic.
The room in Hotel Gounod was tiny! In comparison, the other accommodation were much more gracious! Our hosts in Uzes and Chateauneuf were amazing! Very welcoming, helpful and warm! 
The trip highlights for us ? Pont de Gard! Riding around Chateauneuf. Arles is amazing! Routes were thoughtfully planned.

"Sometimes road book was very specific. Sometimes not so. Some road signs missing. Some new roads not included. This meant a few deviations. Fantastic experience. Great support from the agency. We loved the ride. We loved the choice of towns. We loved the accommodation and the people who ran the hotels. And we loved the transfer drivers. The trip highlights were Chateauneuf de Pape, the countryside, the food, the wine, the people."

"Tour was excellent. Particularly useful were the restaurant recommendations provided in the book as well as important sites to see. Everything was well organized and described clearly and accurately.

"The self-guided cycling tour was a well-planned route. The sites were grand, the countryside beautiful. Would recommend this to anyone who loves cycling with a few climbs. All accommodations were well chosen and efficient.
What were the special highlights for you ? Avignon - palais du papes; the market, the bridge, the gardens. Wine tasting at cave de St. Charles in Chateauneuf du Pape, Uzes,  St. Quentin la poterie. Countryside as the wildflowers were in bloom: vineyards, jasmine, fig trees, wineries, apricot groves, etc. Les Baux Carriere de Lumieres, the village and chateaux. The climbs and descents. Pont du Gard, St. Remy. The entire journey was a highlight.
Definitely will recommend Walk Inn to friends. The cycling, the sites we visited and the countryside were spectacular. Hotels and restaurants were very well chosen. Weather was perfect each day. A few of the roadbook maps were somewhat confusing. We made some wrong turns, however, found our way to the correct route without cycling too far out of the way. Thank you for accommodating our trip! We will certainly refer our friends to Walk Inn Provence."

"Arriving early on the first day at Chateauneuf du Pape was a good introduction to reading the directions and also a great place to taste wines in the afternoon. At La Casa de Boulbon, we ate as part of the family which was enjoyable. The special HIGHLIGHTS for uw were the restaurants in Avignon, the delightful town of Boulbon and the great timing for our visit with the running of the bulls with the big Carmague white horses. Yes, we certainly would travel again with you and have already recommended you to various friends."

“Once we were in the countryside and away from the main roads it was all special. The ride to Chateauneuf Du Pape and the return to Tavel had sublime vistas and we laughed and laughed when we were riding over the large red stones that the vines love so much. The countryside when we left Tavel and rode to Uzes was very picturesque. Loved Uzes and our hosts at L'Hostellerie. St Quentin la Poterie with it's lovely pottery was another memorable day. Pont du Gard was outstanding even though there were so many people. We rode further upstream and swam then sat under the glorious pines with the Pont Du Gard at our backs, ate our picnic. We loved the whole trip and would love to do it for longer next time. Besides the great bikes,notes and maps, the choice of accommodation was terrific. They were centrally located, clean, good breakfasts and were quintessentially French, not sterile motel rooms. 2 set evening meals was the perfect number. I will recommend Walk Inn to my friends"
