WEATHER

- The maximum temperature in the Vercors averages 13°C over the year (from 3°C in January to 23°C in August). Hiking is possible from May to October, but the weather is really pleasant from June to September.
- The Vercors is subject to two prevailing winds: the south wind and the north wind. The northerly wind (la bise) brings a sharp, dry chill. It blows regularly and is synonymous with fine weather. Conversely, the gusty southerly wind brings heat (melting snow), clouds and precipitation.
- Exposure is a determining factor. At the same altitude, a south-facing slope is warmer than a north-facing slope. Thunderstorms are a frequent occurrence in summer, and represent a real danger on the Hauts-Plateaux. As is the fog, which can reign for more than fifty days a year in the Lente forest. The higher the altitude, the greater the rainfall, the more frequent it is and the heavier the snowfall.

ELECTRICITY

Europe is on a 220 Volt system

MOBILE PHONE & INTERNET

Please check that your mobile/cell plan allows for calls & messages abroad
A good option is to buy a “country Sim card” in a phone shop. It will cost you around 10€ / 15€ and will allow you to call local phone numbers with internet access
